Resident Assistant
My freshman year I promised myself I would never become a Resident Assistant. I didn’t want to walk around writing people up and having them upset with me. When I joined RHA I was exposed to housing and residence life, I got to know the higher-ups and the Resident Directors. My sophomore year I still didn’t have a lot of confidence in my leadership but I applied hopefully it pulled me out of my comfort zone so I could grow. It did. I had to go up to people I never knew and learn how to talk to them as if we were friends for years. I had to figure out how to manage my time with all my new responsibility. I was playing Rugby, Vice President of RHA, and Public Relations Chair for BSA. Being an RA I have learned to work through issues differently. I have learned how important it is to show someone that you care and how impacts their lives.
